COV-19 Updates : The Chemistry Buildings are closed and therefor the X-ray Laboratory is closed to all non-departmental users until further notice. The Chemistry buildings are on lock down

We are sorry for the inconvenience

Statement from the Chemistry Department Head : I have made the decision to lock-up the chemistry department buildings and limit access to those individuals associated with the department. Decisions regarding staffing and departmental operations will be made based on the situation in chemistry. If facilities are told to shut down by the VPR we will have to comply. However, we have already reduced some services. I am sorry for the impact on your research—many of us have also been affected by this situation. However, the safety of my staff, faculty, and students is my priority at this time. Thank you for your understanding in these trying times

Welcome to the X-ray Diffraction Laboratory in the Department of Chemistry at Texas A & M University. We are a full service X-ray Diffraction laboratory offering state of the art instrumentation for the analysis of solid materials. Our services include single-crystal and powder diffraction for Chemistry, Material Sciences and Pharmaceuticals. We are staffed by trained Ph.D. scientists who employ the most up to date diffraction and X-ray techniques. Please feel free to contact us about your diffraction needs.

Our Mission The purpose of our laboratory is to provide X-ray diffraction analysis to the Texas A & M University system and to educate our students in the science of Crystallography. Our main focus is to determine molecular structure from single-crystal samples and to perform high resolution X-ray powder diffraction. We provide services to outside users. We are a full service facility, able to determine the three dimensional structure of molecules and solids, from single crystal samples. We can determine various structural types from small inorganic solids to small macromolecules. (see our Brochure)
